She Knits Again!!!

What a difference a week makes! I was such a whiner last Tuesday after my cast came off. First, it hurt like h*ll!! Second, I couldn't move my arm AT ALL! I was soooooo disappointed. "Just be patient," so many people said. Not one of my virtues, let me tell ya!!! But by Friday, my arm didn't hurt as much, my incision healed enough that I could shower without a bag on my arm, and I was allowed to take the brace off for brief periods. SOOOOOO, I spent a good part of the weekend knitting! Woo hoo. I finished a Ballband bag (started 2 months ago) in turquoise and brown Patons Merino. I still have to do the twisted I-cord for the straps. Next, is fingerless glove number 2, which is now about 2/3 finished now. And in the back is a Booga Bag that is now about 1/3 finished. The two bags will be donated to two different school fundraisers and the gloves are for my daughter.

I also did some cooking this weekend. I still don't have enough strength to chop but my helper cut, chopped and opened containers. I made a big pot of turkey chili, which will be dinner tonight (served with cornbread & honey-butter), and two batches of granola (see picture) - Cranberry Coconut and Vanilla Cinnamon Almond. This stuff is awesome!!! I love it with yogurt and fruit.

OOHHHH!! I am so glad you can knit again. That would be just about the worst thing in the world. I love soups and stews too, that is one of my favorite things about the winter months, much to children's dismay. Can't wait to see what all comes off the needles.

Yay at being able to knit again! I finished a second bag last week and have a pic of it up on my knitting blog (Kitten Knits Yarn) if you want to see it. It's a different pattern, and if you scroll down some posts you can see the pic of the ballband bag I did for my friend for Christmas.

Bonnie...SOOO glad that you are back to knitting!! That was a long, knit-less haul!! I can't wait to see the ballband bag felted. I love the colors you used.

That granola sounds very yummy....I love making granola as well.

And for the record, you had every reason to whine and I don't think you should apologize at all!!

Finally! How wonderful to be back to your old self. Your knitting looks wonderful. I've thought of doing that ballband bag. The colors are striking.

Glad to see you're back in the swing (as opposed to the sling!) of things.
