Any suggestions for a pattern?
I love this little top that Ali Larter is wearing. The collar, the raglan sleeves, the empire waist, the bow - everything about it! Can anyone recommend a pattern so I can create something similar? I can see extending this into a dress.
That is so cute! I don't sew, so I don't have any ideas. This post is really to wish you a very happy holiday season and all the best for 2008. Can't wait to hear how everyone loved all your beautiful handmade gifts!
Ok, I know how to make this... but it's going to be a Frankenstein explanation. First, you need to find a basic top pattern that fits you like you want the shirt to fit. This is the starting point... The shirt she has on is raglan sleeve top, so you need to alter the basic-top pattern you picked out. Check this out, and don't forget to add seam allowances!! (http://www.whatthecraft.com/tuts/raglan.html) Next issue is that collar: (http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=493) is a tutorial on how to make the pleated collar. As for the buttons/bow, I would just run buttons all the way down and give it a belt with the bow, maybe in velvet ribbon?

It is adorable, sadly I have no clue as to a pattern that would be close.
