She suggested new batteries might fix my camera. I remembered that this "malfunction" happened right after I THOUGHT I had recharged the battery. I just recharged it again and reinserted into the camera "fixed" it. What a knucklehead I am.

I've done the same thing. I was freaking out at one point because the camera wouldn't work. My husband says, did you change the batteries. Uh no. The next time it happened, I changed the batteries, but it didn't fix it. This time, it was the fact that I needed to delete off some of the pictures - argh!!

Oh, I'm just overwhelmed!! I've never been a topic of someone else's before!
I'm glad my experience was helpful--needless to say, this was something I found out based on my own experience. It's scary the first time it happens, isn't it?
Don't feel bad, you just saved yourself some money.
