10/16/07 - Thanks for all your comments! Between the comments here on my blog and at Pattern Review, it looks like this skirt is a go although I will heed the advice to make it a bit fitter at the sides and definitely, will wear a fitted, streamlined top. I'm thinking turtleneck - just like in the pattern picture!
I think it turned out kinda cute but maybe I'm missing something. I made View C some scrap thin twill that had not been pre-washed so I think it's a little stiffer than the skirt should be. If I end up making this for real, I'll be sure to pick a drapier fabric.
So I ask... "Can I (should I) wear this style?" My feelings won't be hurt if the answer is no. But if you say yes and I find out later I look silly, I'll have to hunt you down! LOL!

I like it! I think the key is to wear this skirt with a fitted top. The skirt may be kind of "puffy" and you want to balance it with something fitted on top. I have this pattern on my to-do list...
I agree with Christina. It's all in the styling. You need a fitted top to balance it. But I think it looks cute.
Yes, you can wear it. I had the same concern/question when I sewed a skirt in this style. The advice I received was to pair it with a fitted top - which I did and it looks great.
I like the skirt and I agree with the others, a fitted top.
I agree with Christina. It looks really cute.
Oh, I like it. I say slim top or cropped jacket and you'll be set.
I agree with the votes - you can wear it but it goes with a slim sweater top. Can't wait to see the fabric you pick out!
I can't wait to see this one finished- I just bought this pattern too! Like everybody has already said- this one is all about balance, with a fitted top it's very wearable.
Ditto to all the above comments.
Ditto to all of the above. I think you wear it well.
I think it looks great. I also think that sometimes it's more about the way you "fit" an item. Looking forward to seeing the next version.

Great Skirt! It looks good and with all the 'yes' votes, I'd say you have a winner. Just found your blog. Love it! I'll be back!
I think it's cute on you! I would probably shorten it a few inches...but that's just me. ;)
