My brother and SIL had their first baby (a little girl) a week ago and I knit this sweater and hat for her. They are a little big for a newborn but I was aiming for an autumn set. The ruffled cardigan is a Reynolds
pattern that can be purchased from Patternworks. The hat is
Miss Dashwood from Knitty.com. The yarn is CottonEase in Sugarplum (embroidered with pineapple, vanilla and pistacio CE.)
I also received more fabric yesterday from
Gorgeous Things. I plan to make the following:
Awww, the set is just adorable. Love the sweater embroidery. Really adds a lot. But the red-lipped hat model -- she's gotta go. She's almost scary wearing a kid hat!
ReplyDeleteGreat new fabrics. Which project first?
Super cute! Ok gotta love those red lips heehee!
ReplyDeleteHey there, just found your blog and think it is really neat. Can you please tell what type of cutting board/mat you use, the one that's shown under your patterns in this picture?
ReplyDeleteThe set is so cute!! I gotta agree with Debbie though, red lips with baby hats is very scary! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI bought that same new look pattern!! Bet it looks better on you though! (heck, bet you get it done before I do)
Love the sweater/hat combo!! It's beautiful. The model is a bit scarey! Would love to see the names people would come up with for that!!
ReplyDeleteLove the color you chose for the set. I just finished up a Miss Dashwood, but it will fit my (unborn) daughter like when she's 2 or 3, so I think I'll knit up another in a smaller size and different yarn. Did you feel your bobbles were "bobbly" enough? I didn't like how mine turned out, but it could be the yarn I chose (Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, instead of the Cash Aran...ooops!)
