Ballband Bag
Over at Oh Bag Me / Let's Bag it, the monthly bag KAL is a bag designed after the Ballband Dishcloth. Monica wrote up the pattern and made a beautiful bag. I started mine over the weekend and after a false start with variegated yarn, opted for two solids. Here was my progress yesterday morning. (Awful photo taken with my Treo WHILE I was driving to work - bad motorist!!) I did knit a bit more on it last night while watching the Dancing with the Stars finale (Go, Emmit!!) I hope to finish it up this weekend. I'd like to do a similar bag in pale pink and brown. If my daughters seem to like this one when it's done, maybe I'll make one for them.
The bag looks great! I think the ballband is a fun pattern to knit. May have to have that be my next bag.... Oldest son asked when his clogs would be done, so better start on those soon!!
ReplyDeletelove it - can't wait to start mine!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing great on Monica's bag pattern. I've done one as well for a Christmas gift (won't have the pics up til after the recipient gets the gift), but I don't think I used big enough needles - I'm thinking I should have went up a couple of sizes...maybe I'll try that next time. The bag didn't felt as much as I would have liked because you can still see some of the stitch definition - though not too much. I was afraid of it shrinking too much so I didn't want to felt it anymore (I used Patons Classic Wool and I have heard horror stories of items shrinking FAST). Can't wait to see yours felted up.
ReplyDeleteBTW here from a comment you left on another blog.
It looks great! I actually think that's an amazing photo for a Treo! I'm running out of brown - may beed you to send some my way :-) Hope your parties this weekend are fun.
ReplyDeleteok, question for you...i started mine and the one side seems fine (looks like bricks overlapping the way they should), but the other side the boxes are matching up :( do your bricks uniformly overlap all the way around? thanks in advance!
